Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. Everything you share with me stays private, with a few exceptions, such as if there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others. I’ll explain these exceptions in detail during our first session. If you, the client, want us to share information with a resource, we will require a signed release of records.
If you're in crisis, we recommend contacting a crisis hotline or going to the nearest emergency room. We can talk about specific emergency and safety plans tailored to your situation.
